- Publicly rated reviews should be made in such a way that the reviewer's personal taste and opinion on the quality of the media is clearly defined. For example: I dislike 99.9% of bdsm. If i read a masterpiece-quality story about bdsm and end up disliking it, should i leave a horrible review? Ofc not! The story was well-executed, no amount of me disliking the subject matter can undo that. I frequently see people lowballing works simply due to them personally disliking story elements that are a matter or personal taste and it's frustrating to witness and unfair to authors. Of course, people should feel free to mention their personal tastes in reviews blahblahblah, anyone who thinks im stating otherwise is simply jumping to extreme conclusions about me. I enjoy reading thoughtful personal opinions about story content, it just aches me to see dingdong stoopid heads rating obvious great works a 1/10 just because they personally didnt enjoy the genre/tropes/story/ect. -.-
