I am a simp of realistic and hardworking characters. Who don't have things easy and have everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Like; they are not handed a skill, ability etc just because a story 'says so......'

They are not amazing etc just because a story 'says so'..

Those kind of characters are booooring. Not necessarily bad. Just booooring. Because they are not left with much room to work with.
Since author already give them almost every exceptional attribute that exists...
Even perfect people have thousand little flaws to them.

I like characters who earn things..
-Through grit, hardwork, and mess-ups.
And even if they are amazing and highly accomplished, they still*** thread between the lines of being too perfect and too unrealistically humane..

-Characters who are well-written are delicious to consume.
In other words, these characters do not play it safe just becauseee 'that', is the only way a story could cater to the audience's standards and preferences..

A story that I that qualify as good is a story that evokes emotion.

Wether it is emptiness, indescribable rage, sorrow, confusion and joy etc.

Evoking the emotion of a reader is the hardest to do. Easy, but hard.
If an author manages to do that, you can consider yourself successful 😂

-I especially do not**** like stories that are made out to be extremely good and sophisticated by mass readers, when in reality it is not at all***** what they're made out to be.

The stories that are often hyped up, overpraised, and overrated. But are usually average.
Stories with problems of score inflation 😂
Ps; Do nottttt, trust the ratings..

They are sometimes unreliable.
Sometimes you need to go on a deep dive in the review section, to actually get the truth.
And read a fair share of the story yourself.

-I don't like stories that are too** convenient, it feels like everything just fall too place without much work. As if life itself is rid of any obstacles. Be it 1%.
