🍑 Pro enthusiastic consent! 🍑 Consensual sex/relationship needs to be the new norm: "No means yes" sucks as a standard regardless of the fact that culturally "non consent" and playing coy is the "norm" in webtoons/manhwa/manga/manhua or any other type of Asian media and supposedly seen as "acting cute/coy".
It needs to change so that everyone can say no to sex or any sexual act without any ambiguity.
Say no to coy/non/dub consent and keep asking authors for more enthusiastic consent in fiction.
Saying "it's okay, it's fiction" is ignoring the fact that sexual assaults are so common as to be expected and reporting is useless in way too many cases as long as "no means yes" continues to be the default in real life as it is in content.
Fiction is a reflection of our society regardless so while it's one thing to "turn off your brain" it's important that sexual assaults stop being normalized and that has to be acknowledged in fiction as well as non fiction. Rape and rape play are two different things and the distinction must be made.
