My taste? Emotionally wrecked BL, traumatized men with god complexes, masochisticXself sacrificial characters, and way too much angst for someone who says they’re “just reading for fun.”
I love reading about characters who need therapy but regress instead, and those who spew poetry lines in the daily.

I like regressors in dungeons(YJH core), enemies to lovers done right, forbidden love, existential crises, idols with way more to them than meets the eye, the sunshine character that suffers silently, college and slice-of-life, high school romance that starts cute and makes me giddy but ends up turning into a stabbing pain in the gut, reincarnated gods with abandonment issues (Xie lian mentioned?? well.. just any character with abandonment issues/separation anxiety in general) and any story that makes me spiral into a 2AM character analysis session.
I love analysing stories, it helps me connect better with the characters and I also love reading about the theories and analysis other people make. I add them to my own to get a better view of things.
I live for slow burns, found family, 'the feelings we made along the way', late-night convos under the stars, and human ties which transcend any kind of relationships.
At this point I might love angst because I want to FEEL something, or have a reason to cry. I want to make myself emotionally suffer. If I didn't cry while reading, the story probably wont leave a strong impression on me. I need to feel the character's depth and emotions, but I don't cry easily while reading manhwas—if I do then that to me is peak reading experience.

Other than my overly specific taste in angst, I love reading cute stories with a nice world building, characters with depth, green flags, puppy topsXpower bottoms, nicely written side characters and the most important of all-

I'm tired of bl/gl/bg manhwas having non-con, dub-con, sa, and coercion in them.
LIKE WHY IS IT EVERYWHERE?!!

Every time I start reading something new, the author suddenly adds rape/sa scenes like it's the seasoning. No story needs those scenes bffr—unless you're writing a phycological story or thriller, but even in that case it is unnecessary.
I'm tired of authors using rape as a tool that 'drives the plot forward', as a means of giving a character 'depth', or making an 'angsty' story under the 'psychological' tag.
There's many ways to drive the plot forward—if you can't, and you end up adding rape, maybe you should reconsider being an author.
Either that, or you create a well-written 'psychological' story.
Anyway, I said what I said. If it is any run-of-the-mill rape shit, count me out.✌️
