There’s so many isekai/possession/regression stories now, with all sorts of plots where people follow the original story, or completely go off and try their own thing, or try to just change enough to save themselves from a bad fate while still loosely following the original plot. If I ever end up in a story (given that I remember the plot and details) I would determine the best course of action after figuring out who I am, when in the story I find myself, and whether or not the world is at risk of total annihilation, because there’s no telling what kind of narrative I’ll find myself in and each situation is different. :)
